Super Rail Band de Bamako

From the Locomotive d’or to the Chèvrefeuille barge of the Convivencia Festival, the loud voices and undulating melodies, colored brasses and hair-raising guitars of the Super Rail Band from Bamako travel from swamp blues to urban mandingue rock. This band of the Buffet-Hotel of Bamako station, will be to modern mandingue music what E.T.Mensah were to high-life (Ghana), Mahlathini to mbaqanga (South Africa) or I.K. Dairo to juju music (Nigeria). Its successive singers – the most famous in the West are Salif Keita and Mory Kanté – have been the undisputed superstars of the Malian scene until the birth of Wassoulou music in the nineties. Encounter on the edge of the Canal du Midi!

Gojira on OC-TV.net

video interview Gojira
Formerly called Godzilla, the guys from the Landes of Gojira are born under the wing of Richard Gamba. Close to a melodic death metal, these monsters offer us incredible atmospheres on their records and on stage, with a faultless technique. A French band that is sure to find some success abroad. Unique, impetuous, brutal and lyrical at the same time, Gojira is a reference of the French scene that cannot be ignored.

Léa Crespi, exposition 'Lieux”

A young artist, Léa Crespi, in the exhibition named « Places », shows us photographs in which body and place questions the humanity of these spaces full of memory and history. The blurred presence of the naked body which becomes an object is very far from all kinds of self-portraits. A work that looks like an initiatory quest.

Izabo on OC-TV.net

Izabo's music has been described as a "Brilliant, action packed combination of Psychadelic Rock, Disco, Punk and Arabic spices", or, if we are to name-drop, like an unlikely cross between Led Zeppelin, the Talking Heads, and Um Kultum. Featuring higah-to-ultra-high vocals, twisting and expressive arab-flavoured guitar work, powerfully funky basslines, arrogantly catchy keyboards and intense disco beats, Izabo have established themselves as one of Israel's most absorbing live acts. Izabo are currently working on their second full length - "Superlight", which follows "The Fun Makers" LP and "Morning Hero" EP (released via BMG-uk). The first album Fun Makers will be out the 5th of February 2007 in France (RoY Music / Discograph).http://www.izabo.co.uk/

Meeting with Eté 67, Interview & Concert

Meeting with Eté 67, Interview & Concert

No serious kids at 17, I've been told.Yet, the six Eté 67 guys have been very concerned with music since their youth with a shared love for the Beatles, The Velvet Underground and Dutronc. They were bored to death in the suburbs of Liège and were dreaming of love and travels, recurring themes of their first album.
Today, 23, they are down-to-earth and became the heroes of their songs. That's a good belgian story! After a great number of shows in Belgium, Eté 67 attacks France now with a "war plan": shows to test the audience then signature by Wagram. In this Montpellier night, Eté 67 energy and sympathy fortunately made us forget the boorish Antirouille managers, or we could have had a bad night! Watch Nicolas Michaux's interview, who calls to our mind Bertrand Cantat...

Meeting with Olivier Besseron, Author Comic strip

Meeting with Olivier Besseron, Author Comic strip, scenario writer, draughtsman

If his characters always have empty eyes, Besseron does have the eye and the manner to catch the daily situations and make a mockery of them to make us laugh at horrible things.Bred with rock'n'roll and fanzine (rock hardi, psikopat, le dernier neurone...), he started drawing in the latter ones. He kept from that time a short and efficient format. After his Comics period or "drawing without reflexion", Besseron built step by step his own universe full of simple and endearing people who are caught in a daily madness. That's the moment when Bess steps in, corrosive, black, horrible and yet funny.

Built on US rap standards, with soul, funk or rock classics (from Rage against the Machine to Cypress Hill to Bob James), Mix Master Mike gives a two hour energetic mix, at the border of reality, full of rhythm breaks and colliding scratches, acting like an electric chock on the over excited crowd: happiness for the ears and the eyes.

Bloody Mess, video clip and meeting with Cathy Naden

Bloody Mess, video clip + meeting with Cathy Naden

Forced Entertainment’s Bloody Mess defies description and categorisation. Marking the culmination of their twenty years work in theatre it is an epic for ten performers that creates a startling new logic from the collisions of disconnected characters, stories and performances. From the outset at which each actor confides in the audience about how he or she would like to be seen during the show, trouble seems inevitable – rivalries, contradictions and complete incompatibility seem to rule the day. But as disaster beckons and the ‘show’ crashes into energetic chaos Bloody Mess succeeds in interweaving its disparate elements to make a whole that is intelligent, darkly comic and unexpectedly poignant.
Meet Cathy Naden, one of the founding members of Forced Entertainemnt.
