Mix Master Mike's interview-concert on OC-TV.net, the mythical DJ of Beastie Boys

Big Hip Hop night, mythical Dj of the Beastie Boys: Mix Master Mike, aka Michael Schwartz. The founding member of Invisible Skratch Piklz collective, three-times awarded at DJ World Championship (he was then asked to retire from the contest in order to let the others a chance to win), did not disappoint toulousan ears. Built on US rap standards, with soul, funk or rock classics (from Rage against the Machine to Cypress Hill to Bob James), Mix Master Mike gives a two hour energetic mix, at the border of reality, full of rhythm breaks and colliding scratches, acting like an electric chock on the over excited crowd: happiness for the ears and the eyes.

Meeting with DJ Moule + Set

Meeting with DJ Moule + Set in Garorock

In the microcosm of the mixing DJs, between Zebra and Missill, DJ Moule goes beyond the bounds of bootleg. In love with any music and fond of unlikely cohabitations, DJ Moule plays to take the text of a band and put it together with the music of another; the result is at least surprising, often brilliant. Winner of many prizes given by the audience or by other bootleggers, DJ Moule already married The Cure and The Beastie Boys or The Doors and NTM. Just before his set at Garorock, DJ Moule gives us his secrets for a good bootleg.

Video Meeting with Zombie Nation, Aka John Starlight

Zombie Nation

DJ from Mûnchen, Zombie Nation, aka John Starlight or Mr Splank come on stage with a one meter disco wig on the head! More than the wig, Zombie Nation likes the 70's, old machines and synthesizers.
Even if electronics is sometimes flawed, no matter, good vibes are there. Hyperactive musician, Zombie Nation works on his own productions rather than remixing the others and he releases his records on his own label UKW. Don't be afraid of this Zombie, he just wanna make you dance.
